About Me
Capturing Memories
The Sun is already low. A golden gleam, that comes from this dying stars last rays, engulfs the grasses, standing tall in front of me. A gentle breeze caresses me from the back. Hoping it won’t carry my scent to my unsuspecting prey, I lie in wait. I squint my eyes, resisting the urge to blink, I do not dare breath.
Freeze! My finger twitches, pulling the trigger, shooting. – Hit. A great success, I didn’t miss and so I hold my now motionless target in my hands.
I take it home with me, put it up on my wall, like a trophy. Hang it there next to it’s predecessors, which were also taken away, captured by me and stored for my personal amusement.
Today’s yield:
A Photograph. A Picture taken by me. A Moment frozen in time, dragged away and stripped of all context.
I took this Photo at the end of July in 2023, on the last evening before I left for a semester abroad in Australia. This was the last time I saw the sun setting from left to right and the beginning of an Adventure.
My Adventure
I believe that there can be Beauty in every Aspect of our Lives.
As long as you give it enough room to unfold and give yourself enough time to see it, you will find that everything has something unexpected, fascinating and in it’s own way, beautiful about it.
From the way wrinkles form in our clothes as we move, to the way that raindrops flow over a windshield or the way that the wires inside a light bulb are shaped. How clouds form in the sky and how sunlight shines through between them and how trees move in the wind…
As a Photographer I try to capture the Beauty that lies in these Moments, I cherry-pick snippets from Reality and confine them in Time and Space, by showing only a fraction of a second in a flat rectangular box.
I preserve the Memories to these Moments for myself and for you I preserve the pictures that I take. I am painfully aware, that a single image can barely be enough to show the whole story or replace a real Experience.
But, I still want to share my Photographs – my Memorys – with all of you. I want to share the way I see this World. Share different perspectives, approaches and angles and hopefully help you see our beautiful planet in a new light. And if only I can make a single person smile, it was worth it!
Now, let us take a Look at the World with new Eyes and Experience it’s Beauty together.
